Lauren Hance- Producer & Director

A playwright can write, but if there are no actors, it is just words on paper. Actors can act, but if there is no director, they go astray. Improvisers can perform, but if there is no audience, the magic is lost. The creative process is not a solitary act, it is working together to create something beautiful.

Collaboration is what drives Lauren as a director and producer. She has worked in the professional and educational arena for 20+ years. Professional work includes Southern Rep Theatre, Landing Theatre Company, Playhouse 1960, Class Act Productions, and more. From 2006-2010 Lauren served as the Director of Theatre Arts at Northland Christian School. Additionally, she spent many years coaching middle and high school students in Speech & Debate, including multiple TFA State Finalist and National Qualifiers (NSDA, NIETOC). Lauren has produced several short films and loved every minute of working with her partners. From 2019-2021, Lauren served as the Director of Theatre & Theology at CITA. Lauren holds a Master of Arts in Theology with an emphasis in Theology, Arts, & Culture from Fuller Theological Seminary (awarded the Presidential Scholarship) and a BFA in Theatre from Abilene Christian University. In 2024 Lauren began producing and hosting What the Fringe?!, the podcast dedicated to all things fringe theatre.

Lauren is the founder of Out of Mind Productions, whose goal is to produce stories that stir the heart.
